Isaiah 42:8 "I am the LORD (Jehovah) that is my name: and my glory will I
not give to another: neither my praise to graven images." This is God's
description of Himself. Sounds like no other is like Him. In fact, Isa. 40:25
ask the question to whom will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the
Holy One.
Before you say no one can be like Him, look at the Bibles description of His
bride. Revelation 21:2 and IJohn saw the holy city, New Jerusalem coming
down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
The latter part of verse 9 says come hither, I will show thee the bride, the
Lamb's wife. Verse 10 and he carried me away in the spirit to a great and
high mountain and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem descending
out of heaven from God. Verse 11 having the glory of God -- But God said
that He would not give His glory to another, didn't He? But is she another? I
Corinthians 6: 17 he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. (my emphasis)
So, she is not another. She has become one with her husband. She even has
His similarities. Verse 11 her light was like unto a stone most precious, even
like a jasper stone -- Rev. 4:3 the One that sat upon the throne looked like a
jasper stone! This is the Bible's description of the bride.
Want to be part of His bride? First, you have to be reconciled to God by faith
in His shedding of His blood in His death Ro. 5:1, 10 and II Corinthians 5:
19,20. Then, you are brought forth into His kingdom by being born again of
His Word, water and Spirit, I Peter 1:23 and John 3:5. This is the espousal to
one husband that you may be a chaste virgin to Christ II Corinthians 11:2.
Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift II Corinthians 9:15.
