When God said in Genesis 3:15 "her seed shall bruise your head" who was he talking about? Himself! We believe Christ was the seed of the woman fulfilling the promise of Genesis 3:15. Who was Christ? the Word John 1:1. Who was the Word? God John 1: 1.

Since the Word was God (at least that aspect of God) then the One making the promise is the same One that received the promise. It was that aspect of God called the Word (not the Spirit) that became the seed of Eve that bruised the serpent's head.

Now if you apply that same principle to Abraham, you can see why the Bible calls Christ the seed of Abraham in Genesis 5:4 that one out of his own bowels would be his heir, we know that God was not talking about Ishmael nor the six children that Keturah bare him in Gen. 15:1.

What we did not know is that God was not talking about Isaac either except in the natural sense. What God was really talking about was Christ. That is why Christ is called the seed Abraham. He was also called the son of David. Christ is never called the seed or son of Adam or Able or Enoch or Noah.

He would not be called the seed of Abraham either if God had not placed new seed in Abraham by renewing his youth. Abraham would be just like men like Able or Noah except God did a new thing in Abraham that made his seed (Christ) different.
