THE FIRST IMAGE
The Spirit that inhabited eternity rose up out to His holy place
The essence of life became a substance to behold face to face
Stepping into a breach of eternity came forth the very first image
Down from His invisible state to a place called the beginning
God appeared in time yet in His ominipresence still reigned above
For the heavens of heaven could not contain the sovereign Spirit of love
God created man in the likeness of His image, Adam was his name
Into him breathed He the spirit of life, a living soul he became
Man disobeyed and spiritually died falling into a carnal state
From the presence of God Adam must go, along with his mate
By shedding blood God spared his soul and prolonged his life
But now the law and sin had dominion over Adam and his wife
More blood had to be shed over and over again
For man's ways were corrupt and stained from within
So the image that was first in the beginning became an incarnate man
Redeeming souls and regenerating spirits became the completed plan.
