The redemption of my soul is an accomplished fact. The redemption of my body is yet to come. Lev.
17:11 [1] It is the blood that maketh atonement for the soul. Jesus shed His blood at Calvary during
Passover and thereby made atonement for my soul. By my faith in His sacrifice, my soul has been
redeemed. I don't have to wait for that. It is an accomplished fact. Praise God! But, I am waiting for
the redemption of my body Rom. 8:23 [2]. That is when my salvation will be consummated. The type
of body that I will have at that time will depend upon what I have done in the body that I have right
now 2Cor.5:10 [3].
If I have been baptized in Jesus name, which is described in Ro. 6: 3-6 [4] and Gal. 3: 27 [5] and also
been baptized in His Spirit according to Acts 2: 4, 38 [6] and Gal. 4:6 [7] and Ro. 8:15 [8] (if I have
done this) and lived a life pleasing to God, then I can expect to have a body like His glorious body Phil.
3:21 [9]. If I have gone no farther than Passover, if I have stopped there and not gone on to
Pentecost, how will I ever have a glorified body seeing that Jesus Name and Spirit is given to me as a
seal and earnest of the body that I will have in the resurrection 2Cor. 5:5 [10], 2Cor. 1:22 [11], Eph.
1:14 [12], Rev. 14:1 [13]?
Thank God, He not only redeemed my soul at Calvary; He made provision for me to go on to Pentecost
and be filled with His Spirit and baptized in His Name thereby insuring my privilege of a body like His
own IJohn 3:2 [14].
Praise God, those that have the firstfruits of the Spirit are waiting for the redemption of their body;
not just redemption of their soul. Jesus already took care of the redemption of our soul. He has also
given us His name Eph. 3:15 [15] and His Spirit Eph. 1:14 [12] as a promissory note of what is to
come. Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift! 2Cor. 9:15.
